"Gastronomy is gaining weight around the world"

Explaining that masters from Turkey and chefs from Italy and Nepal showcase their skills in his restaurants, the tourism manager, Alif, says, "The average stay in Cappadocia is two days, and we are trying to extend that time. We have kebab, which has become a local food brand, and dried beans in a dish. We also prepare prominent Italian and Far Eastern dishes that are international. Our restaurant also offers popular dishes from Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Korean cuisine."

When he mentioned that they received very positive feedback, Alif said, "Last week, an Indonesian guest said that even in his own country, there are no flavors from the Far East like these. That delighted us. People need to travel to Cappadocia not only for hot air balloons and fairy chimneys, but also for gastronomy. Tourism is an infinite dimension, and gastronomy is a tourism sector that is gaining weight around the world," he said.

Prondra Singh from India, who works as a chef at an Indian restaurant in the town, said she left Delhi, where she was born and raised, and settled in Nevsehir five years ago.

Noting that there has been a significant increase in the number of tourists coming from her country to the region in recent years, Singh said that the Indian restaurant was opened because of this.

Explaining that she received training on the kitchens of different countries in India, Singh said, "People from my country are very happy to see Indian food here. They are surprised to see us here."
