The President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev greeted the graduates of the Bolashak International Scholarship Program on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the program at a reception speech at the Jubi Forum on December 8 in Astana, reported Aqorda Press.
Tokayev emphasized that thousands of program graduates are working for the benefit of Kazakhstan and are agents for positive change in many areas. This is happening at a time when Kazakhstan needs to make a strong breakthrough in its development, he added.
"We are setting ambitious goals for the radical reorganization of the economy, modernization of the political system, and the construction of a truly fair and inclusive society. Investments in education and the creation of numerous opportunities for citizens' self-fulfillment are of special importance," he said in his speech.
Tokayev promised that the country will continue to support talented and diligent youth who embody the ideals of 'Adaldam Ezzaty,' which means 'Honest Citizen' in the Kazakh language.
"I am confident that the Bolashak program graduates and all young professionals in the country will contribute to a wide and comprehensive change in Kazakhstan," he said.
The Bolashak program was established on November 5, 1993, and allows more than 12,000 young people to study abroad for three decades. The scholarship covers all expenses from tuition to accommodation and air travel.
