10 years in prison for the suspect of armed attack on the son of Kemer Mayor

The incident took place in Antalya's Kemer district on 11 June last year. The gendarmerie teams, who were informed that there was an armed attack at the water sports center of a 5-star hotel run by Osman Topaloğlu, son of Kemer Mayor Necati Topaloğlu, moved to the scene. It was learned that Topaloğlu escaped unharmed from the armed attack in which 4 shots were fired. Kemer District Gendarmerie Command teams caught and detained the suspect Ercan Erden, who was learned to have carried out the incident, in a short time. Erden was arrested by the judge he was removed from and sent to prison.

AGAINST THE JUDGE FOR THE LAST TIME

The accused Ercan Erden attended the decision hearing at the Antalya 5th High Criminal Court with SEGBİS from his prison. Osman Topaloğlu and the attorneys of the parties were present in the hall. Kemer Mayor Necati Topaloğlu also attended the hearing as an audience.

The lawyer of the complainant, Ersen Göksan, stated that the defendant fired after waiting 28 minutes at the scene, and the first shot was made at the level of his client's heart, adding, "The defendant's intent is to kill. There is no hostility between the defendant and my client. However, our investigation continues in terms of instigators. We will find them. We will find them. We demand punishment," he said.

'They are looking for a scapegoat'

Defendant Ercan Erden stated that he did not accept the accusation and said, "They were looking for a scapegoat, they found me. I want a verdict of acquittal against me."

The court board sentenced the accused Ercan Erden to 10 years in prison for 'attempting to kill deliberately'. In addition, there was no reduction in the defendant's sentence.
