"A Cry for Justice": President Tatar's Biography Book Introduced by British Writer Vardy
British writer Jennifer Vardy has written a biography titled “A Cry for Justice” about the life of President Ersin Tatar, which was recently introduced. During the promotional event held at the Presidency, many foreign representatives of associations and organizations operating in the country were present. The author put a lot of effort into preparing the book, which deals not only with President Tatar's life and career but also with the struggle of Turkish Cypriots for equal status on the island and their "cry for justice". President Tatar pointed out that the Cyprus problem arose from the attacks of Makarios and its entourage against the Turkish Cypriots in 1964 with the goal of Enosis, and that they have been treated unfairly since then. He called for a change in the approach to the Cyprus problem and proposed a two-state solution. The author hopes the book will contribute to the realization of President Tatar's goal of international recognition and sovereign equality of the Turkish Cypriot people. Former Supreme Court President Taner Erginel also expressed his belief that the books written on this issue will contribute and that cooperation between the two equal peoples in Cyprus will bring peace to the region.
