Crackdown on counterfeit distillery in Tekirdağ

Gendarmerie Conducts Operation Against Counterfeit Liquor Distillery in Turkey
A recent operation conducted by the gendarmerie in the Çorlu district of Tekirdağ has resulted in the seizure of 7,450 liters of ethyl alcohol and other materials used in the production of counterfeit alcoholic beverages. The operation was carried out by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch Directorate, as well as the Çorlu District Gendarmerie Command.
It was determined that a local business owner, identified only as HH, was producing and selling counterfeit liquor in the Hatipler District of Çorlu. Following a technical and physical investigation, the gendarmerie conducted a raid on the workshop and found thousands of liters of ethyl alcohol, plastic bottles and cans, tanks, bottling machines, packaging machines, and other equipment used for the production and transportation of counterfeit liquor.
The total market value of the seized items is estimated to be around 800 thousand lira. Legal action has been initiated against the business owner, who is now facing charges related to the production and distribution of counterfeit goods.
This operation is just one example of the ongoing efforts in Turkey to combat the production and sale of counterfeit goods, which can pose serious health risks to consumers. Authorities have urged the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity related to the production or sale of fake goods.
