Cyber Attack Hits Israeli Websites, Including Banks

Israeli Companies and Universities Under Attack by Hackers on "World Quds Day"
On World Quds Day, which commemorates Palestinians' struggle against Israeli occupation, Israeli companies and universities were targeted in a cyber attack by "Anonymous Sudan," according to reports in Israeli media.
The Israeli postal service, major banks, and an electric company were affected by the attack, which caused temporary disruptions. However, the National Cyber Security Authority has confirmed that no significant data leaks occurred from these sites, which resumed service after the attack.
While the hackers were able to breach the customer-facing interface on the banks' websites, they were not able to access any internal documents or files. The cyber attack was limited to marketing pages, and the banks' bank systems remained secure.
This is not the first time that "Anonymous Sudan" has targeted Israeli universities. On April 4, the group launched an attack on the websites of Tel Aviv University, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, University of Haifa, Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel Open University, and Reichman University.
As cyber attacks become more frequent, it is essential for companies and organizations to maintain strong protection systems to prevent data breaches and other security threats. The National Cyber Security Authority recommends regular updates and training for employees to stay informed and prepared to prevent and respond to cyber attacks.
