Fazıl Say's 100th Anniversary March for the Republic Recorded

Fazıl Say, a renowned Turkish composer, has presented the 100th Anniversary Anthem to the Turkish people. According to Say, the idea for the anthem came from the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, and it was not an easy task to find a promising poem to base the anthem on. However, they found Ayten Mutlu's poem "Ver Elini" and decided to use it as the foundation for the anthem.
To make the poem relevant to the centenary year and Atatürk, they added new sentences that conveyed a sense of hope for the future, such as "The blue lightning of the sky is in my father's eyes, many many many more centennials". Say then composed the music to accompany the poem, creating a march that he believes will appeal to the Turkish people.
Say acknowledged that it takes decades for anthems to be loved and sung by the public, and that there will be many projects to mark the 100th anniversary of the Republic in 2023. Nonetheless, Say is confident that their anthem will be well-received by the people.
The 100th Anniversary Anthem is an important contribution to the centennial celebrations, and it is a testament to the creativity and talent of Turkish artists like Fazıl Say. The anthem represents a symbol of hope for the future, and it will be heard for years to come by the people of Turkey.
