How to Perform Salawat and Bring Blessings: A Guide to Salavat-I Sharif

How to recite Salavat-i Sharif?
Salavat-i Sharif, also known as Salawat, is a form of prayer that Muslims recite after mentioning the name of Prophet Muhammad. It is abbreviated in writing as "sAV", "sAS" or "sA", but its meaning is "May Allah's prayers and peace be upon you." The most common form of Salawat is "Allahüme salli ala sayyidina Muhammedin ve ala ali sayyidina Muhammed" along with "Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam." In the Qur'an, it is stated in the 56th verse of Ahzab Surah that Allah and his angels recited Salavat on Muhammad, and believers are asked to do the same.
In Turkish, the shortest form of Salavat is "Allâhumma salli alâ Muhammed," which means "O Allah, salute our great master Muhammad." Reciting Salawat has many virtues, including the approval of blessings from Allah and his angels, an occasion for forgiveness of sins, and being in the company of the Prophet on the Day of Judgment.
The Arabic recitation of the Salat-i Tefriciye prayer is as follows: "Allahumme salli salaten kamileten ve sellim Selamen tammen ala Seyyidina Muhammedinillezi tenhallü bihil ukadü ve tenfericu bihil- Kürebü ve tukda bihil-havaicu ve tunalü bihir-reğâilmahilm-i ve ala âlihi ve sahbihi, one piece of fi kulli lemhatin and breath kulli ma'lumin lek."
Muslims can also recite Salat-i Munciyye, which means "O Allah, send prayers upon our master Muhammad and upon the family of our master Muhammad, prayers that will deliver us from all calamities and tribulations, that will fulfill all of our needs, that will purify us from all sins, that will elevate our status, and that will bring us to the utmost level of existence in this life and in the hereafter. Surely, You have power over all things."
Reciting Salavat is a way to show love and respect for the Prophet and to seek blessings from Allah. Muslims can recite it at any time, especially when they mention the name of Muhammad.
