"Minister Dönmez Gives Update on Countdown to Big Day"

Turkey is set to celebrate the discovery of its largest natural gas field with a landing ceremony on April 20 at 8:23 p.m, in reference to Turkey's 100th anniversary. Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Fatih Dönmez, took to Twitter to express his excitement, "End to the Great Day 4. Turkey is waiting to meet with its national gas. Without stopping, without giving up, without getting tired, to the target." The Filyos Natural Gas Processing Facility, which is 170 kilometers offshore, is where the gas will be brought to land. Over 2,500 people have been working at sea and 8,000 people on land. Domestic natural gas can be used in homes in the first half of May. Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) Chairman of the Board of Directors, Melih Han Bilgin, has revealed that the discovery will be integrated with the existing natural gas the country already has, and expects that the payback period of the mega investment will be less than a year. The mega investment is expected to reduce the energy imports of Turkey to $40 billion, down from $100 billion needed per year.
