Minister Dönmez Inspects First Black Sea Gas Landing Point
Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Fatih Dönmez, has visited the Filyos Natural Gas Processing Facility to inspect preparations for the arrival of Black Sea gas, the largest natural gas discovery in Turkey's history. The facility is located 170 kilometers offshore, and the project involves the efforts of 2,500 workers at sea and 8,000 on land. The gas will meet with land on April 20, and a ceremony will be held to mark the occasion, which President Erdoğan is also expected to attend. Minister Dönmez received detailed information from Melih Han Bilgin, Chairman and General Manager of Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) and was accompanied by Alparslan Bayraktar, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources. Preparation for the arrival of Black Sea gas at the Filyos Natural Gas Processing Facility marks a significant milestone for Turkey's energy sector, and it's expected to have a tremendous impact on the country's economy.
