Online Assistance for University Community Affected by Earthquake
Turkey's higher education students and lecturers affected by the earthquake have been granted free internet access, thanks to negotiations between the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and telecoms companies Türk Telekom, Turkcell and Vodafone. The service is available to both those in the earthquake zone and those studying at higher education institutions in other provinces but whose families are affected by the earthquake. The service offers 6 GB of free internet per month for educational purposes. This comes as a further measure to support students affected by the earthquake, following the government's decision to postpone the university entrance exams for those in the area.
