Russian Deputy PM Novak and Uzbek Energy Minister Mirzamakhmudov Discuss Boosting Oil Supplies.
Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, held talks with Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Alexander Novak, in Moscow regarding cooperation in the gas, oil, electric power, renewable energy, hydropower projects, and the field of nuclear construction. The talks also saw the consideration of the possibility of increasing oil and oil products supply to Uzbekistan and Rosatom's participation in building new nuclear facilities in the republic. Further, Alexander Novak invited Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov to participate in three important industry events. The Russian Federation's government reported a 26% increase in trade between Uzbekistan and Russia in 2022, with exports increasing by 17.7% and imports by 51.3% year-on-year. The trend is expected to continue in 2023. Russian companies continue to increase investments in Uzbekistan's economy, including the fuel and energy sector, and 19 new joint projects have begun development in 2022.
