Turkish Grand National Assembly Celebrates 103rd Anniversary
The Turkish Grand National Assembly will celebrate the 103rd anniversary of its opening with various events and activities. As part of the celebration program, a ceremony will be held on Sunday, April 23, at the Atatürk Monument in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey at 09.00. The ceremony will include a wreath-laying by Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop, a moment of silence, and singing of the National Anthem.
After the ceremony, the delegation led by Şentop will visit Anıtkabir at 09.15. The Speaker will lay a wreath on the mausoleum, observe a moment of silence, and sign the Anıtkabir Special Book at the Misakımilli Tower. Şentop and the accompanying delegation will then proceed to attend the commemoration ceremony at the First Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
In cooperation with the Ministry of National Education, Ankara University Children's Science Center, and TUBITAK, the "Assembly Garden Children's Garden and Science Festival" event will be held in the Parliament on April 23-26. The event will feature science stands with different themes and playgrounds for children. Approximately 1000 children per day are expected to visit the Science Festival event.
On Sunday, April 23, a "Children's Special Session" will be held in the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, with 134 children, including earthquake victims, attending the session. The General Assembly of the Assembly will meet on the same day with a special agenda.
As part of the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day events, the "Assembly Garden Children's Garden and Science Festival" project will also be organized for children in the earthquake zone on April 17-18-19. The event will start in Adıyaman.
